The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) Program has responsibility to architect new Command, Control architectures. MITRE MDA Program Division supports the MDA/C2BMC program.

We are seeking an experienced technical leader, and a critical thinker with deep technical skills and a demonstrated track record of fostering, promoting, and fielding innovative ideas and solutions. This is a Principal System Engineer Step, preferred Huntsville-based, position. Other locations considered include Colorado Springs, CO and Omaha, NB.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) system analysis subject matter expertise directly to government programs to understand needs, execute and deliver quality analysis to inform leadership decisions.
• Government interaction - MDA senior leadership, division leadership, individual Govt personnel
• Stakeholder coordination - Coordinate across MDA and DoD enterprises to achieve outcomes benefiting MDA and the enterprise as a whole
• Inform technical development, test evaluation, and integration of data distribution enterprises, requirements, and concepts of operations for Command, Control, Communication, and Computer and Intelligence (C4I)
• Build partnerships and coordinate efforts across MITRE and government sponsor programs
• Develop technical reports and presentations on analysis results, options, and recommendations
• Present technical recommendations to government sponsors

Minimum Qualifications:

• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Demonstrated systems engineering experience, including Command and Control (C2) architectures.
• Understanding of large, complex C4I System of Systems
• Understanding of ground and space based sensor system capabilities
• Analytical, decision-making, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to executive-level stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS engineering, science or equivalent, or higher degree and 8+ years' experience in relevant domain
• Understanding of Digital Engineering/Model-Based Engineering/Model-Based System Engineering
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development with a DevSecOps pipeline
• Understanding of modern architectures and infrastructures including micro-service architectures, cloud services, on prem. clouds, and commercial cloud
• Experience working in a multi-national military environment
• Depth of knowledge and experience in Missile Defense systems interoperability and C2BMC
• Network architecture experience
• Interoperability experience
• Experience in requirements management and verification
• Active TS/SCI clearance

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$151,000 - $188,500 - $226,000 Annual
