The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) Program has responsibility to architect new Command, Control architectures delivers capabilities across multiple combatant command users. MITRE C2BMC project is seeking an experienced engineer and a critical thinker with deep technical skills and a demonstrated track record of fostering, promoting, and fielding innovative ideas and solutions. This position would interface between C2BMC development and warfighter users to help integrate capabilities toward successful fielding. This is a Lead System Engineer Step, Huntsville-based, position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide C4ISR system analysis subject matter expertise directly to sponsor programs to understand needs, execute and deliver quality analysis to inform leadership decisions.
  • Government Sponsor engagement- MDA senior leadership, division leadership, individual Govt personnel, Combatant command warfighters
  • Stakeholder coordination - Coordinate across MDA and DoD enterprises to achieve outcomes benefiting MDA and the enterprise as a whole
  • Inform technical development, test evaluation, and integration of data distribution enterprises, requirements, and concepts of operations for Command, Control, Communication, and Computer and Intelligence (C4I)
  • Build partnerships and coordinate efforts across MITRE and government sponsor programs
  • Develop technical reports and presentations on analysis results, options, and recommendations
  • Present technical recommendations to government sponsors

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or equivalent and 8+ years' experience in relevant domain; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Demonstrated systems engineering experience, including C2
  • Understanding of large, complex C4I System of Systems
  • Understanding of ground and space based sensor system capabilities
  • Analytical, decision-making, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to executive-level stakeholders
  • Experience in warfighter requirements and needs development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to look at future developments, develop plans & aid transitioning the capabilities to the warfighter in partnership with the government and industry
  • Travel to EUCOM, NORTHCOM, Colorado Springs, etc.
  • MS or higher degree and 6+ years' experience in relevant domain
  • Experience working in a multi-national military environment
  • Depth of knowledge and experience in Missile Defense systems interoperability and C2BMC
  • Network architecture experience
  • Interoperability experience
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
