Cable Burial Engineer

The geotechnical department gives support to the tender and project department of DEME Offshore in Breda. The department is responsible for all engineering related works: methods trenching, route engineering, cable burial, rock & landfall.
The main working location will be from our office in Breda with sporadic international trips and visit's to installation vessels.Your responsibilities

• As cable burial engineer you are an internal consultant to the (geotechnical) engineering team.

• Conduct geotechnical site investigations and gather crucial data for engineering analysis and design.

• Perform comprehensive geotechnical analysis using cutting-edge software.

• Design and recommend innovative foundation systems for stability and safety.

• Prepare clear geotechnical reports with findings and engineering recommendations.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into projects.

• Identify and mitigate potential geotechnical risks during construction.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• You work independently, but report, share knowledge and collaborate well with colleagues.

• You work from our DEME office in Breda.

• You will get the possibility to apply for in-house and external training courses.

Your profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).

• Proven experience in geotechnical analysis, foundation design, and site investigations.

• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages for analysis and design (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, etc.).

• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and geotechnical principles.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

• Effective communication and presentation abilities to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
