Job Description We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer/Project Manager to play a pivotal role in our custom fabrication projects. In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for translating conceptual designs into detailed CAD drawings while managing project timelines, budgets, and client communications. Your expertise in CAD design and project management will be crucial in ensuring the successful execution of our projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities - Plan, execute, and manage fast-paced fabrication projects from inception to completion, ensuring all projects meet deadlines, budget, and quality standards. - Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects. - Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. - Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and budgets. - Monitor and track project progress, identifying and managing project risks and issues. - Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on project status and expectations. - Conduct regular project meetings to provide updates and gather feedback. - Perform quality control checks to ensure the highest standards of work. - Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, providing leadership and motivation to team members. - Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or issues promptly. Key Responsibilities: • Utilize CAD software to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models for fabrication. • Collaborate with designers to develop practical solutions that align with creative visions. • Prepare accurate material lists and fabrication instructions. • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution. • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards. • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing inquiries, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle. • Implement and maintain project documentation, including drawings, schedules, change orders, and project reports. Requirements • Proven experience as a CAD Designer/Project Manager in a custom fabrication, construction, or related industry. • Proficiency in CAD software AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Vectorworks or comparable 3D vector design software and a strong understanding of technical drawings and drafting principles. • Prior experience as a Project Manager in the fabrication industry, with an understanding of metal, wood, and/or scenic elements. • Solid project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interface effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and accuracy in all deliverables. • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. • Strong understanding of materials, fabrication techniques, and construction methods. • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with Exhibit/Trade Show build a big plus.
