CAD Program Manager

General Summary
The CAD Program Manager is responsible for developing and standardizing the use of CAD tools and systems in LAIKA’s Armature, Rigging, Motion Control and Mechanical Fabrication departments. As the key technical resource for these teams, this position supports Mechanical Designers and Machinists through direct problem solving, systems development and the introduction of new CAD tools to manage complex production workflows.

Job Functions

• Standardize and support the use of Autodesk Inventor and Vault for Mechanical Designers.
• Develop and maintain materials libraries and design templates, and make them available through department specific tools and workflows.
• Manage the configuration and implementation of CAD systems, working with department leaders to define life cycles and automation standards.
• Work with Lead Designers and Head of Mechanical Fabrication to define quality controls and ensure all designs are ready for fabrication when approved.
• Work directly with Designers to train on standard workflows and troubleshoot problems.
• Maintain data management practices across teams, using tools to ensure consistent naming and data structure of all parts and assemblies.
• Work with Technology Engineers to integrate CAD systems with production databases, CG design and RP printing workflows.
• Research new tools and systems, working with department leaders to improve the user experience and efficiency of Mechanical Designers and Fabricators. 

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience as a CAD Manager or CAD Resource Manager in an industrial design and manufacturing company.
• 4+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Designer, or Customer Support Engineer, with an emphasis on Autodesk Inventor and Vault systems.
• Expert knowledge of Autodesk CAD products (i.e., Inventor, Vault, Fusion 360, Fusion Team).
• Proficiency in one or more of these programming languages: C#, VB.Net, iLogic, Javascript, Python
• Familiar with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code or Intellij Idea
• Experience with API’s for Vault, Iventor and ShotGrid, preferred.
• Experience with developing training and user support materials and working directly with end users.
• Experience with software QA and testing, preferred.

On-Site in Hillsboro, OR / and also eligible for hybrid work.

Salary
Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
