We are looking for a new colleague to join our team in Washington, MI!

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design/development of Automotive Occupant Safety Systems. Perform testing and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for products such as airbag and seatbelt systems to meet safety regulations (FMVSS 208, 214, and 226). Study customer requirements and safety regulations and perform crash analysis for Occupant Safety Systems. Generate FEA models utilizing standard design principles.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for Automotive Passive Safety Systems products such as airbag and seatbelt systems to meet safety regulations, such as FMVSS (208, 214, and 226).
• Study customer requirements and safety regulations (FMVSS - 208, 214, and 226) and performcrash analysis for Passive Safety Systems.
• Construct FEA models utilizing standard design principles.
• Conduct sub-systems level analysis to evaluate structural integrity and produce correlated model to dynamic test results.
• Responsible for systems fine tuning and design optimization using simulation results and their correlation with testing data.
• Perform a feasibility study for new concept designs using FEA simulation.
• Provide FEA support for engineering assessments and cost reduction for new car programs.
• Attended design review meetings to discuss FEA results and solutions to improve the design, assembly, production, and safety.
• Develop analysis methods to advance the use of CAE in product design and development.
• Strong Knowledge in the following FEA software (LS-Dyna, Hyperwork).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 5+ years of CAE experience.
• Must demonstrate working experience with FEA codes (LS-DYNA, HYPERWORKS).
• Understanding government standards as they apply to the automotive safety business.
• Demonstrate high levels of interpersonal communication skills; fluent in writing and speaking English.
• Foster teamwork and cooperation.
• Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Exhibit high levels of self-control, self-confidence, and flexibility.
