About you and this role

We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s or bachelor’s student (m/f), to support our Finance organization by doing an internship project in our Credit department in our location in Terneuzen, The Netherlands. The department that will welcome you is the Credit department within the PM&C Business Segment. This role will oversee the credit risk and trade accounts receivable of customers within one business portfolio. This role is a good entry point for someone with a financial or analytical mindset that is looking to enter Business Finance or expand their skillset in a technical risk role that is both business and customer facing and will work assisting experienced credit professionals in daily job.  

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the proper implementation and oversight of Dow’s credit policy
• Optimizing the credit risk/business reward balance
• Protecting and enhancing the company’s cash flow
• Ensuring prompt turnover of receivables
• Minimizing bad debt losses
• Contributing to long term customer satisfaction
• Supporting the company’s financial and business objectives including internal controls.

Qualifications

• You are currently studying for a Bachelor’s or master’s in accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics.
• You have a good working knowledge of English. German, Dutch or other European language will be a plus.
• You can start between NOVEMBER and MARCH 2024 for a period of 5-6 months (exact date and duration will be discussed).
• You have strong Excel skills.

• You are organized, with solid analytical skills and communication skills; you pay attention to details and like to work in team.

Additional notes

• The internship position will have a hybrid way of working certain level of flexibility will be applied.
