Do you want to help us build the future of our campus? The Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine La Jolla team is looking for a Campus Senior Manager to shape transformative business initiatives to improve our operational efficiency, organizational excellence, and strategic project planning. This position will report to the Campus Director and provide strategic leadership to shape key business plans while inspiring change!
Key Responsibilities:
The Campus Senior Manager will build, lead, and improve the campus business strategy with site specific practices and business programs, including but not limited to operational efficiency, organizational change, and campus growth. This role will also contribute to the employee engagement and campus communications strategies, This exciting role aligns our mission with corporate business operations strategy while mobilizing local ideas, resources, and solutions. This dynamic role will also:
- Establish a network of business partners and allies to facilitate and enhance the adoption of common projects and practices. This includes collaborating and influencing others to develop cases, review risk, solve complex management gaps, and implement plans.
- Manage and analyze projects' efficiency through dashboards, targeted analysis, or forums. You will also develop and drive the implementation of future state goals & objectives with project/program management tools, practices, and methodologies. Present data and plans to leadership.
- Forecast and plan resource requirements, and budgeting for specific initiatives; collaborate with leaders across functional areas to secure and manage capital and operational resources vital to maintaining a continuous flow of projects.
The candidate will shape and lead our campus organizational change strategy, crafting a campus vision and passion for the future. As the site's champion and diplomat you will:
- Infuse a "voice of the customer" approach into problem-solving efforts to ensure that business processes are significant to our workforce.
- Build long term, strategic partnerships and collaborations with internal and external groups to promote our campus mission and culture.
- Help position, share and promote the campus business model and practices across the enterprise.
The leader will build and champion a highly effective team while serving as a role model enacting Credo values. The successful candidate will also coach other team members and workstreams participants on standard methodologies and scientific related activities, partnerships and information.
The successful Senior Manager enables forward-thinking, strategic decision making, employee empowerment, adaptability, transparency and clear communication. This key role will apply project and program management, business performance management, critical thinking, problem solving and analytic skills to serve the campus mission.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Project and Organizational Change, or other related area is required
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Completion of 4-year scientific training program or experience is required
- a minimum of 8 years proven experience program/project management and/or working on transformation initiatives aligned to the responsibilities is required
- a minimum of 3 years managerial, supervisory, and/or leadership experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment is required
- Robust expertise in business strategy, business operations and organizational change; previous experience shaping long term sustainable processes, and improving complex projects; expertise on data analytics to drive positive outcomes is required
- Must demonstrate deep expertise on team dynamics, and a track record building highly effective teams is required
- Experience establishing relationships, building creative collaborations, and influencing senior level executives, peers, and partners is required
- Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment is required
Preferred:
- Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint is preferred
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 - $203,550
The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
- Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
- Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
