(CAN) Specialist, Item File

Position Summary...The Specialist, Item File (IF) serves as a subject matter expert related to master data. Supports the business with collecting requirements and the development and enhancement of templates, processes, and reports. Responsible for creation and updates of training modulars, videos and job aids for internal and external users. Completes UATs, provides feedback and recommendations in a timely manner.
Leads training and demos of the new/enhanced tools. This role will also lead the training effort of IF and data governance processes, and be accountable for IF and data governance projects, enhancements, and adoption across the organization.
Specialist will work closely with teams across the business and collaborate with multiple support teams, including international to ensure master data processes and guidelines are enforced.

What you'll do...

1. Partner with Merchandising and other Cross Functional Teams to ensure accurate analysis and timely execution of all requests received for the creation and maintenance of item data, and maintain the requests through a formal process.

2. Understand and communicate data updates (e.g., creation, maintenance, introduction of new fields, modification in attribute definition etc.) that impact downstream systems / teams. Responsible to maintain working knowledge of systems as required, provide and enroll in appropriate in-house training. Responsible for the creation of job aids and training decks and facilitation of training with relation to Item File and data governance processes, applications and enhancements.

3. Accountable for decision-making as the project lead with regards to Item File processes, applications and enhancements through cross-functional projects. Responsible to assist on projects to ensure completion and to support coordination efforts as requested.

4. Responsible for creation/maintenance templates , reports, dashboards, validators.

5. Maintain clear communication and positive relationships with cross-functional teams, contribute to the development of cross functional teams and provide support on customer needs.

6. Responsible for creation and updates training modulars, job aids and videos.

7. Support and enforce established data standards and guidelines related to Item File & Training.

8. Serve as the subject matter expert and central resource to train business owners in Item File creation/maintenance and/or the use of supporting tools.

9. Lead the training effort of IF and data governance processes, demos of the new/enhanced tools.

10. Accountable for the UAT completion, feedback and recommendations in a timely manner

Qualifications

· Extensive knowledge of Item File and other Item data-related systems

· Understanding of business units within a retail organization

Expert VBA and SQL

· Ability to manage multiple priorities

· Time management skills · Interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Understanding impact to other areas of the business from decisions/findings made during testing or process change

· Ability to train on the appropriate use of Item data systems

· Strong analytical and systems thinking skills

· Ability to work independently and proactively

· Must be detail oriented and highly organized

· Ability to work based upon specific timelines and dependencies · Prior experience working with retail Item data considered an asset
