Capital Markets Associate

Pine Gate Renewables is growing fast! Not only are we deploying more solar and storage projects in the coming years, but the company is maturing to the point where we now need a dedicated team to execute on our corporate finance initiatives.

 In this role, you will report to the Head of Strategic Finance and Investments to support the following verticals: 

• Corporate level capital raise: This will include working with investment banks to raise debt and equity capital to support our growth. 
• M&A: Pine Gate may opportunistically acquire companies to help complement our existing business lines. 
• Corporate VC investing: As the industry grows and becomes more sophisticated, Pine Gate may strategically invest in start-ups that have the potential to disrupt the sector. 

On a day-to-day basis you will do the following: 

• Build financial models to analyze various corporate financing strategies.
• Review term sheets and financing documents.
• Participate in meetings with investors, lenders and financial institutions.
• Research start-ups that operate in the renewable energy / sustainable energy space.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and identify potential acquisition targets.
• Prepare pitch decks to solicit bids from lenders and investors.
• Support senior management on various financing related matters.  
• Participate in senior management meetings.

In order to excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following traits: 

• Completed undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics. 
• 2-3+ years of prior work experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail. 
• Eagerness to learn about renewable and sustainable energy sector. 
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point and Word. 

• Solar or renewable energy experience. 
• Transaction experience. 
• Understanding of equity and debt capital markets, and corporate finance. 
• Venture Capital investing and modeling.

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics or Accounting.
• Working towards a CFA, CPA or MBA. 

• Candidate will ideally be located in New York and work out of our NYC office. 
• Willing to consider remote work only if candidate is located on the East Coast (to align time zones).
