Capital/Project Accountant
Job Description
Vero is currently seeking a candidate for a full-time Project/Capital Accountant. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards, including capital project reporting, as well as overall ownership of a broad range of finance and accounting processes. This position requires an individual to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, self-managed environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee capital budget and planning process in collaboration with senior leadership, project managers, and budget owners demonstrating strong communication and listening skills.
- Track project expenditures to the capital budget by reviewing contracts and change orders by task to verify project coding accuracy and research and resolve variances and discrepancies.
- Work with project management functions to track purchase orders, invoicing, and spend in order to review expenditures for proper authorization and coding.
- Consolidate and report on multiple business unit capital budgets and spending on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Record, reconcile, and track up-to-date Construction in Process (CIP) and roll forward schedules.
- Work with project managers to plan cash flow requirements and timing.
- Review and record capitalized labor allocations.
- Prepare journal entries to record construction project revenue, project completion, depreciation, and adjustments to construction in process (CIP) accounts.
- Review multiple business entity expenses for possible capitalizable cost per our capitalization policy.
- Work across multiple business units and departments to improve internal controls, capital tracking and reporting, the accounting system and procedures for operational viability, financial reporting, and cost saving practices.
- Prepare external reporting for auditors or other stakeholders as required.

Position details:
- Full time/exempt
- Remote
- $65,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
- Potential Bonus up to 15%
