OVERVIEW

KBR is searching for a distinct contributor to join a strong management team and take our business area to the next level. Our ideal candidate will manage capture and proposal activity for opportunities associated with our preferred customer. Above all, you should have passion, motivation, and the drive to pursue business opportunities and success.

You will be responsible for leading and developing capture and proposal activities. You will create capture plans, interact with potential customers and industry partners, qualify opportunities, and be responsible for leading and developing those opportunities toward high win probability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create Capture plans to complete all capture milestones, Step Reviews, and other opportunity-specific tasks in Defense & Intel's (D&I) growth lifecycle
  • Lead process for project management, contracts, pricing, and proposal development, specifically in relation to positioning for bids and contributing to proposals
  • Work with the other members of the D&I group to mature and advance our position, in anticipation of the final request for proposal (RFP)
  • Have and/or build connections/relationships with one or more agencies, in at least one component with our preferred customer
  • Translate requirements into robust win strategy, carefully tested and validated, and advance strategy to management, with strong value proposition and differentiated bid elements based on compelling features and benefits
  • Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements
  • Identify gaps and develop strategies to overcome weaknesses and mitigate risks.
  • Lead and negotiate teaming agreements and strategic alliances
  • Assess probable competition and evaluate relative strengths and threats -- conduct Black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10+ years of capture management and/or proposal management experience
  • Demonstrable Capture Management success in contracts won
  • Experience leading teams with members from a variety of organizations and functional responsibilities, to develop and evolve win strategies
  • Possess deep knowledge of the Capture process and the discipline to pursue the process
  • Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers
  • Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to stakeholders and decision-makers; strong briefing and writing skills
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Past performance in developing customer relationships, developing a qualified pipeline, building industry relationships, and leading capture efforts
  • Personal accountability for quality of performance, deliverables, and end products.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and creative problem-solving abilities

  • Shipley Certificate of Business Development
  • APMP Certification
