Position: Skills Instructor - Career Services

Location: Wakefield, MA

Salary: $18 per hour

Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

Communitas is dedicated to delivering individualized, family-centered services, programs, and support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, throughout their lifespan and in their communities.

Summary: Support individuals with developmental disabilities to enhance work skills and find employment.

• Develop and implement Individual Support Plans
  • Write annual assessments and goals
  • Help individuals complete their goals
• Attend team meetings as scheduled
• Implement clinical and behavioral treatment plans
• Create community based activities
• Provide direct employment support through on the job training both in house and in the community
• Assist individuals with community employment
  • Train soft skills
  • Act as a liaison with employers and potential employers
• Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs

• High School diploma is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred
• At least one year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
