Case Manager Supervisor
Job Description
WestCoast Children’s Clinic, located in Oakland, California, is a non-profit community psychology clinic that provides mental health services to Bay Area children, youth and families. The Case Manager Supervisor (MHRS Supervisor) brings synergy and integration to team based services for clients at WestCoast Children's Clinic. The position entails internal/external resource awareness and expertise for navigating client care. The MHRS Supervisor provides individual clinical supervision of MHRS staff (such as case managers, intensive care coordinators or outreach specialists), which includes supporting clinical case needs, skill building and supporting staff with their professional development goals. From a clinical compliance standpoint, the supervisor is legally responsible for adherence to all applicable certification, supervision, billing, documentation requirements and overseeing the timeliness and quality of a staff member’s work. This includes working in collaboration with Program Directors to identify policies, procedures, and training needs in relevant areas.Â

The Case Manager (MHRS) Supervisor:
Provides direct, individual supervision for MHRS staff.Â
Review and approve relevant clinical documentation for supervisees. Â
Provides leadership and networking linkages, both internal and external, for the purpose of enhancing knowledge base and expanding resource awareness.Â
Provides ongoing, regular feedback and evaluation to staff on the quality and timeliness of their work as well as their caseload; Solicits feedback from staff regarding supervision and whether needs are being met.Â
Completes 90 day and annual performance evaluations for superviseesÂ
Consults with Program Director(s) on client issues where crossover care coordination is needed and does so in a timely manner.Â
Ensures that staff complies with all legal and ethical practices; co-signs progress notes, clinical forms, and correspondence as a legal representative of WCC.Â
Coordinates team meetings or case-conferences as required.Â
Participates in WCC meetings, administrative program meetings and training as required.Â
Adheres to requirements for supervisors as stipulated by WCC policies and procedures.
Provides support and training where needed to assist staff in meeting client engagement hour requirements, charting, caseload, record keeping, documentation standards, and all other quality assurance standards.Â
Helps staff identify professional development goals for the year, and collaboratively monitors progress toward those goals.Â
Other duties or projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters degree (in a mental health related field preferred)
Minimum of 4 years experience with providing case management, or Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) and/ other clinical work with children, young adults and families.
Demonstrated experience providing and/or supervising community-based mental health treatment, including case management, individual rehabilitation, or ICC on treatment teams serving youth and families with complex needs.
Demonstrated clinical experience interfacing with systems of foster care, child protective services, juvenile justice, group homes or residential treatment, community mental health, and/or community psychology models
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, provide feedback and recommendations that improve quality of client care, adapt and develop constructive creative mechanisms to meet client needs and work collaborativelyÂ
Competencies:
Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma, chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, domestic violence and sexually exploited minorsÂ
Knowledge of county systems, resources and services available to youthÂ
Competent in working with psychological issues related race, ethnicity and class
Collaboration and team functioning - able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, able to proactively collaborate with other supervisors and program directors to ensure the best possible training for supervisees and service delivery for clientsÂ
Efficiency and time managementÂ
Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skillsÂ
Knowledge of or ability to learn Medi-Cal reimbursement procedures and billing
Position Details and Compensation:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary starting at $78,000 per year, and includes benefits package, 403b retirement contribution and performance-based compensation plans.
