Job Description
- Utilizes multiple systems and applications to locate correct customer account, invoice and amounts, and to identify and accurately allocate customer payments. The systems/applications used include: Commercialine Alpha Search, BRC Alpha Search, Filenet and GECOM
- Ensures payment allocations are applied accurately. Includes research and analysis, working with aged amounts, invoice alignment, parent and child account relationships, reconciling unapplied cash, and resolving any payment discrepancy. Manages assigned account volume and determines best strategy to work through large payment volumes.
- Communicates with customers, stores, and external and internal clients to resolve account issues related to payment allocations and unposted items; maintains positive relationships with AP/Credit Coordinator to minimize account issues.
- Responsible for maintaining monthly productivity and quality standards to help business meet customer service levels.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 years of customer service experience
- 1 year of experience using the GECOM system (for internal candidates) or other applicable payment application systems
- Basic cash application knowledge
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office Applications
- Ability to manipulate Excel spreadsheets with medium data sets
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business, finance, or related field
- 2 years of customer service experience including research and account resolution, with extensive interpersonal communication
- Experience with payment allocation, accounts receivable, or accounts payable
- Good analytical skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Intermediate level Excel experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-up skills
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
