Pay Rate: $67.85
Role Summary
We are seeking a CAT Scan Tech. who is required to perform all tasks as required by the coordinator and lead staff. To prepare equipment and supplies for specific procedures and ensure patients' physical and psychological comfort. Maintains specific inventory records and ensures the area is stocked with adequate supplies. coordinates the schedule of daily exams and any additional responsibilities if any.

The CT technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence when performing the following tasks. Obtains necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for specific procedures according to established protocols. Maintains sterility of field and instruments. Correctly prepares requisitions. (professionalism and service excellence)

Communicate to and involve the patient and family before, during, and after the procedure to alleviate anxiety while maintaining the privacy and dignity of the patient. The technologist will adhere to all HIPPA regulations and respect the patient's privacy. Verifies patient identification according to the AHS policy. Observe the patient’s condition before and after contrast injections and report any sudden change to the nursing staff and Radiologist. Ensures availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and history of the patient. Can begin emergency response in case of complication.

Maintains adequate linen supplies in each scanning room. Maintains adequate contrast media and biopsy/drainage supplies in each scanning room. Adheres to room assignments (CT 1,2 and 3). Assists in maintaining CT storeroom, and outside inventory. Participates in daily inventory and stocking of supplies. Notifies Lead of expired or soon-to-expire equipment or medications. Cleans and inventory supplies. Participates in the routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table, and peripheral equipment after each use.
The point staff will perform the following tasks while displaying involvement in patient care, professionalism, and respect for other staff and patients: When assigned as Point, triage procedures according to the daily schedule Ensure timely coordination of all emergency and unscheduled procedure requests. Assigns staff to ensure efficient workflow while maintaining an environment of patient safety. Maintains workflow within the section to coordinate emergent and unscheduled procedure requests within the schedule. Communicate with all departments and floors regarding patient status. Ensures immediate patient transport post-procedure.

Assists in performing routine procedures. Assesses the patient's ability to tolerate contrast. Screens for allergies/medication incompatibilities. Cleans CT Unit and room after each use. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the working area. Notifies the Coordinator or Lead of equipment malfunctions. Maintains QA/QC requirements for daily, monthly & ACR specifications. Recognizes unusual conditions in the operation of equipment. Alerts appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions. Adheres to venipuncture and power injector protocols.

When doing cases that require immediate results such as Code Grey, Trauma, and Partial Trauma the images will be acquired, processed, sent, and verified/completed in the PACS / RIS system per established protocol (Immediately after acquisition for Code Grey). The CT technologist will notify the radiologist as Code Grey images are being sent and follow up with any processed data afterward. All staff should notify the radiologist of ANY unusual finding to provide the optimum care for the patient.
Skills & Qualifications

CT registered; Maintains current certification/licensure as required for the position.

A current NJ RN License or compact license
Three Shifts needed

10p - 6a
-
37.5 hours (daily lunches)- Need tech from 10p-6a, some weekends as needed, and some holidays Possible on call 1- 10 pm- 6 am on call shift per month.

10a - 10p 3 12's. Call rotation is required
