Role

This Category Manager position is responsible for supporting our Network Deployment Innovation team to engage in innovation efforts that optimizes our network deployment model, from the initial identification of an opportunity to the estimation of costs and possible full integration of an innovation to the deployment playbook. The supported product and programs concentrate on delivering the greatest opportunity for outsized growth for Crown Castle. The Category Manager will support the team in spend analysis, supplier identification, opportunity identification for scale, strategic execution of agreements with our legal counterparts and implementation with a focus on increasing Crown Castle's competitive advantage by facilitating competitive pricing, improving time of deployment(s), maintaining a high quality of service and maximizing on opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, grow and manage network portfolio of suppliers providing innovative products and solutions
  • Support all Supply Chain programs including supplier management reviews as well as process improvements
  • Lead spend, contract, and market analysis for opportunities
  • Conduct RFX events, prepare bid analysis, present sourcing recommendations to teams (as necessary)
  • Manage all new and existing contracts (in conjunction with legal) and suppliers, and deliver performance results
  • Ensure compliance with company, legal, and other requirements
  • Oversee and manage supplier initiatives for continuous improvement
  • Drive stakeholder alignment by communicating effectively with partners on key objectives
  • Develop partnerships with all cross-functional areas
  • Identify new opportunities and drive results in support productivity and cost savings goals
  • Drive risk management and business continuity planning with internal stakeholders
  • Use Supply Chain best practices when developing and implementing process improvements or system controls
  • Lead change management when establishing new programs, drive on-going evaluations to ensure savings, supply, and quality, and provide implementation support for network regions
  • Identify training needs for deployment in the regions and support content development

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree Preferred)

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Supply Chain and/or Engineering (previous strategic/category management experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of network construction techniques and materials (possible experience in managing contractors associated with this work).

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
