What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Category Sourcing Manager to strategically source direct materials within assigned spend categories and create value within categories to meet business needs of Flooring North America Manufacturing.

This role will ensure supply, quality, costs, and relationships are managed effectively to result in consistent value creation.

What you'll do:

• Manage all components of Mohawk's sourcing strategy including spend analytics, service requirements, specifications, supplier identification and evaluation, supply/demand market analysis, competitive intelligence, negotiations, legalities of agreements, qualification trials, supplier relationship, and performance management including KPI's and scorecards
• Coordinate efforts among purchasing, manufacturing, R&D and suppliers to reduce material costs while ensuring quality
• Negotiate and support implementation of major supply agreements
• Meet regularly with suppliers and provides data driven feedback on supplier performance, fostering good working relationships
• Participate in new product development processes as the primary purchasing resource for finding and selecting new product components and suppliers, with an aptitude for technical detail and manufacturing processes across a wide variety of raw material types.
• Maintain a holistic view in every purchasing decision or recommendation, protecting the interests of the company and balancing short-term and long-term benefits
• Proactively acquire and maintain technical knowledge of the commodity/industry

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or other related field
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, planning, operations, or supply chain

• Communicating and negotiating effectively with internal and external customers
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Achieving results through team efforts, challenging established practices, and drawing relevant conclusions
• Exercising independent judgment and demonstrating solid time management and organizational skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and schedules
• Thinking abstractly and quickly proposing solutions to complex problems
• Challenging the status quo, including the persistence and willingness to take calculated risk, to stimulate, market and sell new ideas within the organization.
