The team you'll be part of

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

Strategic Sourcing drives supplier & sourcing strategy for Mobile Networks (MN). We design, build and develop MN supplier base ensuring competitiveness, agility and sustainability. We ensure and drive supplier quality, innovation and sustainability as well as risk mitigation.

  • Be responsible for the sourcing of materials, products or services of specified technology or product area by creating an excellent supplier base with the best terms and conditions
  • Manage the supplier performance in your responsibility area
  • Ensure we act on up-to-date market information and analysis from your area of responsibility
  • Ensure Execution Excellence is in everything we do - from following compliance and internal/external standards to striving for continuous improvement by putting the customer first and doing it right the first time
  • Build and drive your internal and external stakeholder network - from Suppliers over Category group teams to Product Management, R&D and beyond


Your skills and experience

You have a passion for semiconductor and standard component engineering, you are looking at the right job description. You would be able to join a global strategic sourcing organization as a Technical Expert (TE), where senior colleagues are keen to educate you to be successful in this challenging role. We have a global team with excellent working culture and atmosphere, where we will ensure your smooth onboarding with your component category and procurement tools and processes. You would learn the latest technologies in telecommunication, especially Nokia radio and baseband HW products. Knowledge of semiconductor and standard components in detail would be an advantage. Experience of using tools in sourcing data management would be also beneficial.
  • TE team is working with standard and semiconductor components. If you have interest in some of the following categories, we would be happy to tailor-made your role to focus based on your best interest: analog, interfaces, resistors, timing ICs, FCPs, SoCs, ASICs, FPGAs, telecom, processors, IP licensing, discretes, logic, capacitors, protection, power management, power solutions, inductives, switches & relays, memories, RF active/passive/power
  • Technical Experts are accountable to deliver the right technical support across the Semiconductor & Standard Components Category in Mobile Networks COO Strategic Sourcing.
  • The Technology Expert (TE) role is accountable for the technical procurement aspects associated with the items and technologies (materials, components, assemblies, etc.) purchased and used in Nokia products and solutions in order to source at lowest total cost of ownership from our suppliers
  • The accountability covers the entire product lifecycle, starting with supplier technology & roadmap assessment, strategy development, complexity reduction, standardisation, component selection, technical quality issue resolution, alternate component identification & qualification, end of life management and the related data management
  • TE collaborates inside Nokia in partnership with a number of stakeholders: Strategic Procurement Management & Category management, supply chain functions, program procurement solution function, R&D, manufacturing, capability management and with the wider technical community in Nokia (Bell labs, Nokia technologies, etc.). Outside Nokia, TEs interacts closely with suppliers' technical teams and with EMS. The TE is the prime contact to suppliers for technical and roadmap related matters in line with Sourcing Category Management.
  • Typically 3-5 years directly related experience in the telecommunication industry or any other adjacent industry , as well as a graduate equivalent degree
  • Established skills and knowledge of theory and principles within the sourcing field of expertise or adjacent domains
  • Cross-cultural knowledge and a global mindset
  • The attitude and ability to raise innovative ideas
  • The drive and motivation to grow yourself and your career by taking assignments outside your standard comfort zone
