Cell Engineering Internship
Cell engineers at Lunar Energy will be responsible for ensuring the validation of the product throughout the entire lifecycle of our revolutionary home energy products, as well as evaluating technologies for future generation products. As an intern, you will support these activities and will be expected to own/execute projects from beginning to end with mentorship.

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, chemical and manufacturing engineers across the company to execute the various tests outlined in design validation plans.
- Execute test plans to characterize cell functionality and degradation mechanisms.
- Develop detailed instrumentation maps highlighting sensor and data acquisition needs.
- Develop test scripts to automate exercising test articles as intended during the test.
- Collaborate with technicians to get test articles and data acquisition systems prepared for test execution.
- Process and analyze test data using various software tools to validate system performance.
- Share and present test results with detailed test reports and documentation.
- Maintain and contribute to a clean, safe, and organized laboratory.

- Recommended:
- Experience with cells and batteries
- Experience with basic electrical circuits, wiring and troubleshooting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership or project management experience, working cross functionally in project based settings is a bonus.
- Completed or in the middle of completing coursework in the following classes or roughly equivalent versions:
- Electrochemistry
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Introduction to Programming
- Statistics and Probability
- Nice to have:
- Experience with battery testers (Maccor, Arbin, Neware, etc)
- Glovebox or inert environment work
- Various characterization methods (EIS, SEM, XPS, GITT)
- Experience using programming languages such as Python, SQL MATLAB or LabVIEW.
