Job Description

Imagine what you could accomplish at Apple. In an environment where innovation and operational excellence thrive, we're seeking a strategic thinker to elevate capacity planning and supply chain intelligence for the AMR Logistics Operations team. If you are passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights and shaping global logistics performance, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Description

In this role, you will own capacity decisions across AMR distribution centers and transportation networks, using forecasting, scenario modeling, and operational analysis to improve service, cost, and throughput performance.

The Central Logistics Analyst leads end-to-end capacity planning across AMR distribution centers and carrier networks, ensuring the right workforce, space, and transportation capacity are in place to meet demand. This role owns headcount modeling, volume forecasting, and transportation alignment to balance service, cost, and operational efficiency. In partnership with internal teams and external partners, you will evaluate BAU and NPI demand signals, analyze trends, and translate forecasts into actionable capacity plans. Using advanced analytics, you will develop robust forecasting models, scenario plans, and interactive dashboards to anticipate constraints and drive proactive decision-making.

This role is also responsible for improving planning quality and speed through automation, process simplification, and standardized cadences. You will identify supply chain bottlenecks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate capacity outlooks, risks, and business impact clearly to senior leadership.

Success in this role requires strong analytical judgment, structured problem-solving, and the ability to turn complex data into clear operational decisions in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Solve:

Capacity gaps caused by demand volatility, labor constraints, or carrier performance variation

BAU and NPI planning conflicts that create bottlenecks across DC and transportation operations

Tradeoff decisions between service levels, throughput, and transportation cost

Forecast bias or weak demand signals that drive late escalations

Variability across sites, partners, or processes that reduces network efficiency

Manual workflows that slow decision-making and reduce consistency

What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months):

Built a scalable cadence for BAU and NPI capacity reviews across DC and transportation partners

Improved forecast and scenario planning quality, reducing reactive escalations and last-minute capacity gaps

Identified top network constraints and implemented measurable mitigation plans

Standardized capacity dashboards and leading indicators used by operations and leadership for decision-making

Reduced manual efforts through automation and process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

Planning for both BAU and NPI demand in a dynamic supply chain environment.

Collaboration with 3PL partners, carriers, and internal stakeholders to optimize network performance.

Automation, process improvement, and continuous improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent).

Influencing and driving strategic change in a fast-paced, matrix-ed organization.

Comfortable diving deep into complex datasets to drive actionable decisions.

Resilient and adaptable, thriving in ambiguity and high-pressure environments.

Leadership presence to inspire teams, foster collaboration, and deliver measurable impact.

Masters/MBA preferred

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field

5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, capacity planning, logistics operations, or a related analytical role in a high-volume, complex network

Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous operational problems, build analytical models, and translate outputs into decisions

Strong experience in headcount modeling, volume forecasting, production/capacity planning, and transportation alignment

Experience building forecasting models, scenario analyses, and dashboards that support proactive decision-making

Fluency with analytical tools such as SQL, Python or R, and BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent)

Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to present assumptions, scenarios, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional partners
