Certification Test Engineer II
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certification Test Engineer ll with a strong background in wireless / RF product testing to join our team. As a Test Engineer II within the Environmental, Regulatory, Compliance and Validation Team (ERCV), you will play a critical role in conducting product testing, data collection, and verification for our household products, related equipment, and component systems. You will be responsible for the design of prototype components and test fixtures, the performance of installations and repairs of test equipment and components as needed. You will be required to read, interpret, and accurately and concisely break down established test procedures for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Value and Component Engineering (VE/CE) initiatives to ensure products meet regulatory (UL, ETL, & FCC) and Company standards.
JOB DUTIES:

- Conduct tests of new components, assemblies and systems based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to appropriate development and testing group.
- Conduct various performance tests of the company's products in accordance with test criteria established by policies and procedures or written test plans and maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to appropriate development and testing group.
- Conduct comparison tests of competitive products and components in accordance with test criteria established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to appropriate development and testing group.
- Prepare prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current products as directed by policies and procedures or written test plans or work requests. Ensures that the prototypes meet the established specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to identify and address challenges in test procedures with the aim of improving workflow efficiency and effectiveness by reducing redundancies while ensuring compliance with all Regulatory and Company Standards.
- Develop a test schedule and manage testing plans based on specified testing procedures to meet product milestones and project deadlines effectively.
- Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, supporting documentation, and equipment to enhance the efficiency and accuracy in the testing process.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelors/Associate technical degree in electrical engineering, technology, or related field.
- Strong technical capacity in the usage and application of equipment such as a multimeter, power meters, oscilloscopes, RF testing & analysis equipment (spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, etc.) and fatigue analysis
- Proven experience in testing processes and in conducting hands-on product Testing.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple test plans, timelines, priorities, and overall cost-reduction when/where feasible.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot issues identified during the testing process and the ability to propose effective solutions
- Familiarity with test techniques related to security and life safety products.
- Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness throughout the testing and documentation of results processes.
WE VALUE:
- Experience with home electronics, troubleshooting of RF assemblies and systems.
- Familiarity with security systems, sensors, and life safety products.
- Experience and knowledge in testing and certifying products to safety compliance standards such as UL, ETL & FCC.
- Excellent communication skills to enable close collaboration with engineering to convey test-related challenges, present findings accurately, and an ability to speak clearly and concisely to the test method(s) and test setups employed.
