Medical Assistant - Certified or Registered
Job Responsibilities
- Perform clinical and administrative medical assistant duties as directed
- Medical Assistants prepare patients and rooms for physician examination and procedures
- Medical Assistants obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Medical Assistants assist physicians with examinations and procedures
- Medical Assistants register patients for hospital and physician clinic services
- Medical Assistants schedule patient examination, procedure, and surgery appointments for hospitals and physician clinics
- Medical Assistants verify patient insurance benefit coverage via phone and online insurance payer portals
- Medical Assistants update patient charts, records, and accounts with clinical and billing data
- Medical Assistants provide superior high volume patient customer service in a fast paced environment
- Medical Assistants use Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Outlook, medical software, and type 40+WPM

Requirements
- 1+ years experience performing clinical and administrative medical assistant duties
- Medical Assistant Accreditation: Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant
- Medical Assistant Education Program Completion (Medical Assistant Diploma, Associates Degree in Medical Assisting, etc.)
- Medical Assistants must have prior experience rooming patients and assisting physicians with examinations and procedures
- Medical Assistants must have prior experience obtaining patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Medical Assistants must have prior experience registering patients for hospital and physician clinic services in a healthcare setting
- Medical Assistants must have prior experience scheduling patient examination, procedure, and surgery appointments
- Medical Assistants must have prior experience verifying patient insurance benefit coverage via phone and online insurance payer portals
- Medical Assistants must have prior experience updating patient charts, records, and accounts with clinical and billing data
- Medical Assistants must have prior high volume in person and phone patient customer service experience
- Medical Assistants must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook & electronic medical records (EMR) software
- Medical Assistants must demonstrate ability to type 40+WPM required (alphanumeric & 10-key typing)
