Chief Finance Officer (Nashville, TN - Hybrid)
We are looking for a growth-oriented Finance leader to join our leadership team. The CFO will be the senior leader of our finance team, which provides dual roles of financial custodian and co-pilot for the business. As custodian, finance plays a critical role to create and maintain a controlled environment for the business to help maintain its financial integrity. As co-pilot, finance plays an active role in helping set the strategic direction of the business as well as providing decision-making support to deliver financial commitments and improve overall business performance.
The CFO will be responsible for thought leadership for both the overall functional agenda as well as building capability for our FP&A and accounting teams. The CFO will be responsible for informing management on the progress and effectiveness of the company's strategic plans and investments. The CFO will oversee both accounting/controls and FP&A, and be ultimately responsible for metrics, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting. In addition to being the day-to-day champion of all areas of financial execution, the CFO will work very closely with our GM to develop strategic plans and long-term strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and managing budgets, financial forecasts, and financial models
- Creating financial reports and presentations for critical stakeholders including General
- Manager, leadership team and International Headquarters
- Overseeing all accounting and financial functions, including both manufacturing and corporate
- Identifying financial risks and opportunities, and recommending appropriate actions
- Building relationships with the wider leadership team to improve financial rigor and the decision-making process
- Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Building and improving financial modeling capabilities throughout the organization
- Tracking, developing, and growing the FP&A and accounting teams
- Developing strategic plans for both short and long term
- Executing extensive ad-hoc projects
- Advising the current finance team and advising on any structural changes and/or
- developmental process for the team
- Acting as the GM's thought and execution partner for iteratively positioning the company on the best strategic footing for ongoing growth
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- At least 15 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of success
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a high performing, lean team
- High level of proficiency with Excel and presentation tools (i.e. Google Slides, PowerPoint) with sharp attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make sound decisions
- Proven ability to create and own complex, data-driven financial modeling and analysis
- Ability to compile data, develop insights, and communicate recommendations to executive-level audiences
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus
- Experience working in a direct-to-consumer company is a plus
- Investment Banking or Consulting Experience preferred
- Experience with SQL preferred
