Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Financial Officer/Operating Officer plays a key strategic and leadership role for this funded, fast-growth Private Equity investment, co-investment, and management company.
Reporting to the CEO, this position will be responsible for all Financial and day to day operations, including identification and development of a world-class staff. The successful candidate will be one who is comfortable “rolling up their sleeves” and learning the business, developing internal and external relationship, and thrives in a fast-paced, solutions-focused environment.

As the organization's primary financial authority, the candidate will ensure the operational alignment of the accounting and finance functions.
- PE-backed Company Experience: Previous experience in the intense and fast-paced nature of private equity environments. Key to this role is the ability to work with and report to private equity stakeholders, preparing fit-for-purpose reporting, driving value-creation initiatives with a sense of urgency, capital structures, fundraising, and growth strategies, and building a strong relationship between the company's leaders and its private equity partners.
- M&A and Integration Acumen: The ideal candidate should possess experience supporting merger and acquisition activities alongside the CEO and private equity sponsors. They should have a track record of guiding commercial business service platform from initial institutional funding through to exit, which encompasses roll-up strategies, crafting transaction plans, overseeing M&A transaction accounting, and executing post-close integration for acquisitions.
- Process Optimization, Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving: Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of spearheading key business optimization initiatives by utilizing industry best practices. They should be adept at identifying and executing process consolidations, workflow enhancements, and other measures that drive cost savings and elevate operations, service quality, and customer satisfaction. The candidate should be keenly observant and proactive in spotting issues, trends, or emerging opportunities. Their strategic acumen should enable them to work seamlessly both upwards—with figures like the CEO, board members, and private equity sponsors—and laterally across various departments and external stakeholders. Their ability to "see around the corners" and anticipate challenges or opportunities is crucial for adding tangible value to the business.
Key Responsibilities
CFO
- Acts as the chief finance & accounting expert, extending support to the CEO, individual business functions, and private equity sponsors, and offering informed recommendations to progress the business.
- Provides technical and financial model support throughout the organization, ensuring all divisions align with the company's overarching vision and mission.
- Partners with senior management and other company leaders on formulating and driving business strategies.
- Focuses on ensuring the firm operates with a continuous improvement and forward-thinking mindset, always prepared for future challenges and opportunities.
COO
- Implement and oversee the CEO/President's vision and company’s strategic objectives.
- Continually build evaluate processes to ensure all divisions are operating efficiently for long-term organization health.
- Complete the build-out and manage as appropriate all corporate departments, which will include finance/ accounting, administration and may include human resources, and information technology, and other key infrastructure functions.
- Implement the operational plans to achieve our one, five, and seven year goals.
- Drive successful project outcomes by supporting realistic cost and program parameters from the outset and then oversee and drive execution against targets
Key Competencies and Experiences
- 10+ years of total relevant work experience..
- Knowledge of GAAP, Investment Company, IFRS, and SEC rules applicable to real estate investment funds.
- Ability to be flexible and highly responsive to investor needs and requests.
- Strong academic credentials with an understanding of the fundamentals of real estate finance and accounting. CPA, MBA, MRED or CFA preferred.
- Strong work ethic and highest ethical standards.
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization, quality, and attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to compose materials such as detailed reports, executive summaries, and dashboard reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
