Job Description

Title: Change Management leader
Northern Trust is seeking a controls-minded Change Management leader. The Change Management Process Team is responsible for ensuring adherence to control framework while enabling efficient throughput of production changes.
Responsibilities:
  • This self-starter must have strong organization skills, ability to communicate and think critically.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for variety of audiences.
  • Ability to create strong, well organized, impactful communications.
  • Generate enthusiasm and enable a "risk minded" organization
  • Strong understanding of the key ITGC domains namely change management
  • Strong understanding of identifying and documenting system risk
  • Strong understanding of exception evaluation and risk mitigation strategies
    • Strong ITGC experience in these areas:
    • Documenting ITGC controls & policies
    • Leading ITGC controls assessments and developing implementation & remediation roadmaps
    • Managing internal and external stakeholders
    • Leading controls rationalization and optimization projects, i.e., streamline and reduce controls
  • Manages Change Management function and ensures compliance with policy and practice.
  • Produce month-end summaries of all changes processed to implementation.
  • Implement and enforce OLAs/SLAs to ensure effective governance of change requests through the Change Management lifecycle.
  • Partners with Change Management Product Owner on tooling automation (requirements, testing, adoption) to support Change Management Operations.
  • Develop / update standards, processes, procedures and training material as required.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Change Management Operations.
  • Partner with Risk & Control and other LODs (as required) to evidence control monitoring, and other risk and audit related requirements.
  • Develop presentations/material and present to targeted audiences.
  • Plan, execute and manage projects and other special ad-hoc exercises/assignments as requested.
  • Experience in a large financial services firm or highly regulated industry a plus.
  • Project management expertise including working knowledge and application of Agile methodologies a plus.
  • Organizational change management experience a plus.
  • Experience with IT controls and risks.
  • Experience leading application development initiatives.
  • Familiarity working with PPM Tools such as Clarity and other tools including Service Now, Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Oversees change audits to ensure audits completed successfully and issues are communicated.

Qualifications:
  • Expert knowledge in the Change Management (ITIL) space
  • 7-10 years of work experience with ITGC
  • Experience working with Engineering teams and homegrown technology stacks and ITGCs
  • Experience with our common SaaS applications (ServiceNow)
  • Cybersecurity experience
  • Experience with internally developed proprietary applications
  • Assessing and remediating controls preferred
  • SOC 1 reports preferred
  • Segregation of duties preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required
