The Business Technology Group (BTG) provides resources for several technology focused practices, including fully dedicated business sponsorship and ownership of strategic enterprise programs and projects, product management resources focused on delivering scalable, enterprise solutions, a Lean practice, and Organizational Change Management practice dedicated to empowering our business partners to manage, facilitate, and positively experience change through engagement, training & coaching.

Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Change Management Specialist to work in our Business Technology Group. This is an exciting opportunity to build out the structure and function of a Change Management practice with the resources of a large enterprise, and entrepreneurial spirit of a small team. In this role, you will support and/or lead change initiatives to meet business objectives with human-centric outcomes. You will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies, playbooks, and plans that maximize adoption and usage and minimize resistance, conflict, and frustration. The Change Management Specialist will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees, partners, and customers to increase benefit realization, value creation, return on investment and the achievement of results and outcomes. This person will collaborate with and work through many others in the organization to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage a structured Prosci methodology, process, and tools to lead change management activities for projects, programs, or initiatives.
  • Develop and implement tailored change strategies that align to overall business goals and project objectives.
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders to assess change impacts.
  • Create change management strategy including identifying, analyzing, and preparing risk mitigation tactics.
  • Create actionable deliverables for core and extended change management plans including but not limited to communications plan, training plan, sponsor plan, people manager plan and resistance mitigation plan.
  • Support communication efforts by enabling the design, development, delivery and management of key communications.
  • Support the design and delivery of training programs, workshops and change management activities.
  • Consult and coach individuals and project teams.
  • Support and engage senior leaders and executives to fulfill their role of change sponsors.
  • Coach and provide support to managers and supervisors as they help their employees through transitions.
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists such as communications, marketing, project management, and legal.
  • Collaborate with project managers to integrate change management activities into project plans.
  • Champion change management at the organizational level and as a member of the Center of Excellence.
  • Perform additional change management and process improvement activities as required.
  • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management of team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience is required.
  • 8+years of Organizational Change Management experience preferred .
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts a plus.
  • Prosci Change Practitioner Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Prior Property and Casualty Insurance experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in change management principles, methodologies, and application.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part a team to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated results to establish and maintain strong relationships, influence others and move toward a common vision or goal, adapt to ambiguous situations, able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Organized with a natural inclination for problem solving, root-cause identification, and planning strategy.
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Able to travel 10% of the time.
