Position Description

The Channel Manager is a role with 2 primary responsibilities which include:

GROWTH: With proficiency, maintaining & expanding relationships existing channel partners through defined efforts to increase utilization of the MDLIVE services by Channel Partner clients, up-selling and cross-selling additional MDLIVE services to Channel Partners where appropriate and supporting Channel Partners during their pursuit of new business opportunities for MDLIVE. The Channel Manager is responsible for achieving sales, profitability, and partner recruitment objectives.

STABILITY & OPERATIONAL CONTROL: Responsibility for supporting, through Client Success efforts and an immense amount of collaboration across internal functional teams, our existing channel partners & ensuring they are adhering to contractual agreements and obligations, ensuring they are representing the MDLIVE brand in a positive manor aligned with our contractual obligations, and surfacing to leadership any potential risk within the Channel Partner book of business that could impact the MDLIVE brand. The Channel Manager is expected to mitigate such risk through operationalizing best practices & support mechanisms to ensure awareness and operational ease of control.

Essential Job Functions
  • Skilled in managing a diverse, multi-million-dollar book of business
  • Highly proficient in explaining the MDLIVE technology and demonstrating the product
  • Expert on the competitive landscape and how MDLIVE differentiates
  • Responsible for training channel partners how to effectively sell MDLIVE products & support large channel partner pursuits
  • Responsible for designing market plans to improve the market share of MDLIVE
  • Develop, when necessary, training materials and support creation of presentations for channel partners pursuits
  • Ability to structure our reseller and channel management strategy to result in higher margin sales and new clients
  • Closely partner with Legal to identify non-strategic reseller partnerships and terminate their affiliation or reseller rights
  • Consistently exceed all KPIs
  • Manage a continuous forecast through Salesforce.com using MDLIVE Salesforce procedures and forecasting process
  • Manage prospects through phone calls, web demos and travel. Present sales presentations to ensure fiscal responsibility to the organization and strong time management skills
  • Able to accurately forecast in a complex sales process for contract signature and set appropriate expectations on install and delivery time frames both internally and with the customer
  • Work collaboratively within MDLIVE to provide feedback and input for future products and positioning
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of healthcare landscape, virtual healthcare, health plans, TPAs, Benefit Brokers, including IT purchasing decisions, budget processes and reimbursements
  • Strong ability to manage a multi-million-dollar book of diverse business
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and terms, with the support of sales leadership and legal, through complicated contract process
  • Excellent technology skills including MS Office, Reflector, Salesforce and other technology tools
  • Orientation and philosophical leaning toward wellness and wellbeing
  • Excellent communication skills including presenting, speaking, writing, and follow up
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Superior presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to sell new solutions in a changing market, such as telehealth solutions
  • Ability to work remotely as a field-based employee
  • Must be able to fly on a plane and drive a car
  • Must have a valid driver's license


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • 3+ years of sales or client management experience in health systems, TPAs, employer, or health plans representing no greater than 2 positions


Travel Requirements

Up to 65%- Air, Automobile

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
