Job Description:

Description: The Charge Capture Specialist responsibilities include charging procedures and supplies, verifying all procedures are appropriately charged and edits are charged, and reconciling all requests received from the finance department under the direction of the manager. (Potential Remote)

Typical Duties:

1. Demonstrates a personal commitment to the JPS Network system of people, quality, integrity, accountability, caring, and compassion, cultural diversity, and leadership.
2. Completes documentation and meets current standards along with policies and procedures including documentation of all mandatory forms within the scope of the job.
3. Maintains an effective work style.
4. Routinely and within 72 business hours appropriately charges completed procedures and patient visits. Maintain a greater than 97% completion rate of charges in less than 72 hours.
5. Charges, verifies and edits all invasive and non-invasive procedures and patient visits.
6. Reconciles all requests received from Finance; monitors reports, rectifies charge variances, and report trends.
7. Reviews charts for completion in documentation and accuracy; assembles charts as directed.
8. Performs duties required to produce clean patient bills and payments for services rendered.
9. May act as a preceptor.
10. Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel programs.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 2 plus years of experience in charge entry.
• 1 plus year of experience in financial account reconciliation processes.
• 1 plus year of experience with customer service or clinical offices.
• 1 plus year of experience in hospital financial management applications.
