ABOUT THE ROLE
GILLIG’s mission is design, build, and support the safest and most reliable transit buses in the United States. Our products help reduce congestion, contribute to a cleaner environment, and provide mobility to all. We are looking for a customer-focused problem-solver to join our Product Planning & Strategy team to help improve quality of life through transformative mass transit solutions. As a Charging Solutions Associate, you will be responsible for helping our customers identify, procure, and implement the necessary charging infrastructure to support their electric bus fleet roll-out plans.
This position requires an experienced strategic professional with impeccable customer service skills and a wide background and knowledge base in commercial fleet dynamics and vehicle electrification. This role reports to the Manager, Corporate Strategy.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
• Meet with customers to understand fleet charging strategies and objectives, identifying the appropriate GILLIG approach to meeting customer requirements
• Partner with charging equipment suppliers, engineering consulting companies, utilities, software companies and others to scope, quote and deliver the infrastructure solutions required to meet customer requirements
• Review customer request for proposal documents and create GILLIG’s response including the development of the price quote and supporting literature
• Ensure successful implementation of projects to deliver on or beat financial targets, simultaneously delivering high quality customer experience
• Conceptualize and implement the internal processes and process improvements necessary to identify, scope, manage and deliver the solutions required by our customers
• Monitor and analyze technology and trends that could improve the company’s products, performance and strategy
• Serve as an in-house expert on charging equipment capabilities and interoperability
• Develop presentation materials and other educational references for use in presentations, proposals, industry conferences or other discussions with GILLIG’s customers
• Coordinate the smooth flow of information and deliverables between GILLIG, our customer, and our supplier partners
• Project manage the deployment activities of the charging equipment by our supplier partners
• Identify and forge business partnerships with charging equipment suppliers, software companies, infrastructure solution companies, financial institutions, utilities, and other such entities to develop a comprehensive suite of solutions for GILLIG’s customers
• Identify, scope and champion product development projects to meet customer demand for new products or features
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience, MBA preferred
- 5+ years experience in one or more of the following areas: Business Development, Marketing, Strategy, Transportation, Engineering, Electric Vehicle Charging
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
- Ability to influence customer decisions and work with peers to achieve company goals
- Reliability to consistently meet strict deadlines
- Outgoing & engaging personality
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality deliverables
- Capability of managing multiple high priority projects at the same time
- Demonstrated ability to create professional, quality business communications
- Experience working with a variety of enterprise systems to complete job responsibilities (such as Salesforce, MS Office ERP, Engineering Systems, etc.)
- Strategic and creative thinker
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
- Limited travel may be required
- Standard start time: 6:00 AM (negotiable)
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$75,000 - $275,000 + bonus + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
