Chief Engineer

We are looking for an operationally - focused Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all guest rooms, spaces, and amenities. This individual will jump in and solve all guest issues at our full building property in downtown St Petersburg. The ideal person enjoys being hands-on and cultivating a service oriented culture to serve our guests and support each other. 

• Perform preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure that our property is maintained according to established quality and brand standards 
• Respond and resolve guest repair requests in a timely manner and focus on guest satisfaction scores
• Manage and maintain an upkeep schedule to be proactive of any guest maintenance concerns to uphold a frictionless experience 
• Routine maintenance and repair of HAC, plumbing, elevators, electric, sprinklers, and other building systems in guest rooms, spaces and indoor and outdoor amenities
• Conduct thorough apartment and hallway walkthroughs and maintenance checks 
• Plan inventory of maintenance supplies and provide Market Lead with purchasing requests
• Assist with day to day operations and valet service with the direction from the Market Lead
• Coordinate, meet and support our 3rd party contractors including  painters, installers, furniture builders, housekeepers, and other specialized trades 
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while completing tasks related to maintenance, repair or installation
• Oversee regular maintenance and general upkeep of the premises as well as delegate tasks to a team of maintenance technicians
• Stay accessible and communicate each day’s activities and problems that arise to the Market Lead and on-site staff
• Assist guests that have a vehicle upon check in and check out 

• Minimum 4 years of maintenance technician work; experience working at a hotel, boutique, or residential property is preferred 
• HVAC certification is a plus for our property and excellent understanding of mechanical, electric, and plumbing systems 
• This role requires reliable transportation for work, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record 
• Ability to take initiative and problem solve independently as well as be a reliable team player who is willing to jump in when needed with other aspects of daily operations
• Familiarity with Excel and ability to keep inventory up to date on maintenance supplies 
• Understand the importance of attention to detail and effective communication while interacting with guests and our virtual guest agent team 
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and have a guest-centric attitude 
• Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
