What you will do:
This position is responsible for overseeing the design practices of residential HVAC systems, driving standardized processes, leading Design Reviews and DFMEA's, and ensuring proper validation test plans are established and followed during the Product Development Process. The person will be recognized as a technical, business and operational leader. This position will work closely with the corporate Engineering teams to implement best practices.
How you will do it:
Drive standardized processes, best practices, and Six Sigma principles throughout the Engineering organization Oversee the Engineering activities during product development, ensuring proper rigor is followed Facilitate DFMEA's to ensure risks are identified and mitigated throughout the development process Oversee the Design Review process Approve validation test plans during the product design process, ensuring robust designs Review and create Engineering Design Standards Drive the development of an Engineering Maturity Model and ensure compliance. Manage engineering intellectual property rights collaboratively with internal & external legal counsel including patent filings, technology searches, etc. Acts as a technical advisor for strategic planning Long range planning of division wide systems strategy globally
What we look for:
- Bachelor degree in a technical discipline
- 15+ years of experience in engineering operations and New Product Introduction
- Strong knowledge of HVAC product and system design preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
- Ability to influence across a matrix organization without the benefit of direct reporting relationships
- Candidate must be well organized and capable of managing numerous competing priorities
- Excellent people skills with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships across a matrix, multi-cultural organization
- Strong oral & written English language skills
- Strong capability with standard MS Office tools
- Ability to travel
