Job Objective: This is an exciting role in a growing company. The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has deep technical and customer engagement in space domain. Expert in taking complex concepts from idea through production with rigor required for space flight. In this role, you will work closely with Epirus technology leaders, customers, and a talented engineering team to propose products, solutions, design and implement for space customers. The ideal candidate will be capable of owning customerβs engagements, white papers, proposals, system requirements, project delivery, and providing leadership to a multi-functional team of engineers within an agile environment.
Duties
- Provide company space technology strategy in collaboration with products department and corporate business strategy team
- Seed and propose concepts to space customer communities
- Provide technical, schedule and financial oversight of both internal R&D projects and external contracts. This includes the delivery of all contractual artifacts
- Perform project planning activity including system engineering lifecycle management, formation of WBS, project Gantts etc.
- Provide technical guidance, assurance and sign-off across multi-disciplines β hardware, firmware, software, RF, algorithm design, systems engineering activities etc.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure the successful delivery of projects
- Reporting of project progress to stakeholders in the business
- Leadership during business development/bidding activities
- Travel may be required as part of this role
- BS degree or higher in a STEM subject
- 20 years + of experience working on space related projects
- Strong systems engineering skills including around requirements management, interface management, system verification and acceptance
- Project management skills including planning and reporting
- In depth technical knowledge across multiple domains from microelectronics to system
- Excellent written skills, including writing bids and technical reports
- Excellent communication skills, including giving presentations
- US Citizen (future US Security Clearance will be required)
- Must have TS/SCI clearance
- Experience providing technical leadership to a team of engineers
- Experience in planning and managing space qualification for different classes of satellites
- Experience working with delivery of RF systems within a defense or commercial setting
- Good understanding of engineering design tools and how they are used with in the design process (such as MATLAB/Python)
- Familiarity with agile processes
- Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- A focus on lean project delivery
