Aktiv Pharma Group (‘Aktiv’) is a fast-growing, vertically integrated specialty pharmaceutical company with combination products CDMO capabilities, developing, manufacturing, and commercializing sterile-injectable products in a portfolio of proprietary, value-added, prefilled delivery systems. The company’s team of 80 employees harmonize all aspects of combination product development and manufacturing with effectively synchronized operations, including chemistry, device development, manufacturing equipment development, material science, quality and regulatory, in-house cleanroom assembly operations, and in-house sterile fill-finish. Aktiv commercializes drug products independently as well as supporting other pharmaceutical companies address unmet needs and create competitive advantage in the market. Aktiv leading products are proprietary emergency medicine in autoinjectors.

We are currently hiring a Chief Financial Officer.
The Position:
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will provide the leadership, strategic vision, operational excellence, and functional expertise required to maximize Aktiv Pharma Group’s (Aktiv) financial and growth opportunities. The CFO will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the company’s finance functions.
The CFO is a member of Aktiv’s executive leadership team representing the company internally and externally, and will be an ambassador of the company’s culture, values, and operating agreements.
The CFO will oversee the expansion of Aktivs’ business through financings, investor relations, treasury management, risk management, internal controls, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This position will interface directly with Board of Directors (BOD), shareholders, potential investors and banks regarding financial matters of the company.
The CFO will work with senior leadership on collaborations, business development and strategic planning.
This position will provide leadership to the organization to ensure the attainment of revenue and profit goals through thoughtful and efficient planning and execution.
The CFO will develop and foster effective collaboration with other members of the senior management team, various internal constituents, and external partners to ensure an integrated approach to fulfilling the company’s goals and objectives.

- The compensation range for the Chief Financial Officer is $185,000 - $250,000 annually.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Responsible for the strategic direction and development of finance and administration functions and internal control processes to promote the organized growth of Aktiv’s operations and expansion of its business.
- Actively contribute to enhancing the company’s culture and adherence to its values of truth, perseverance, caring and goodness; and to the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusivity aspirations, and encouraging leadership in these areas across the organization.
- Supervises investment of financial capital; works with CEO, banks and/or investment bankers to raise additional capital as required.
- Directs decision-making and implementation of significant administration business policies, processes and procedures including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Information/Communication Technologies implementations.
- Oversees financial modeling and forecasting functions to provide an understanding of the economics of the company’s activities and of the industry, analyze various strategic and tactical alternatives and develop appropriate financial strategies to ensure the company’s success.
- Takes a leadership role in negotiations with large customers, suppliers and partners, policy development and implementations.
- Studies long-range economic trends and projects company prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new product areas.
- Estimates requirements for capital, land, buildings, and changes in the work force.
- Directs long and short-term planning for the department including headcount, budgeting, training, and systems requirements.

- Provide management to staff and leadership to the organization that aligns with the company’s business plan and overall strategic vision, values and diversity, equity, and inclusivity aspirations.
- Collaborative and inspirational and consultative style to partner with executive teams.
- Adept at creating and communicating a clear vision and expectations among direct reports effectively aligning resources to achieve functional area goals.

Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
- Minimum of (10+) years of experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning.
- Prior CFO experience is required.
- A minimum of (5+) years in a senior management role within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
- Experience within a multi-site manufacturing environment – ideally where quality and reliability are critical. Specific experience with regulated medical products and/or the defense industry is a plus but not required.
