Equip is a virtual program helping families recover from eating disorders at home with comprehensive, gold-standard care created by experts in the field and people in recovery. Equip’s five-person care teams include dietitians, physicians, therapists, and mentors who deliver wrap-around support to provide families healing and lasting recovery.

We created Equip to increase access to evidence-based treatment for all people affected by eating disorders. About the role:

Reporting to CEO & Co-Founder, Kristina Saffran, the CFO will drive the long-term financial growth strategy, business operations, and operational scalability by building a world-class finance and business operations organization. Synthesizing across a fast-growing company, you will help lead the strategic planning and FP&A that will sustain Equip’s rapid growth and track the internal health of the company with strategic KPIs. As a highly experienced, collaborative, and hands-on member of the executive team, you will serve as a cultural champion as Equip continues to scale. On the commercial and business operations front, you will partner closely with the CEO and COO (co-founders) to design/implement scalable resourcing with the appropriate investment capital to achieve growth targets in the near and longer-term. Improving efficiencies, driving towards sustained profitability, and exceeding consumer and client expectations consistently across both online and offline touchpoints – are some key measures of success.

You will serve as a strong, trusted business partner and financial mentor to the COO and CEO by providing thought leadership and transparent input, support the overall leadership team in achieving strategic and financial goals, and prepare the business for a range of potential exit outcomes. You will have the opportunity to work with interesting financial models, while also owning the financial roadmaps to enable the business to take on upside and downside risk contracts with insurance companies.

What you will do:

  • Provide insightful and trusted counsel to the CEO, executive team, and the Board on both financial and broad-based business issues
  • Design and drive the strategic KPIs to help accelerate growth and sustained profitability, while providing the executive team with operational insights to better manage the business
  • Lead tough discussions with leaders, manage through ambiguity, and hold stakeholders accountable by building a performance-oriented system and culture
  • Establish measures of performance/OKRs, enterprise workstreams, quality and productivity for each department, track KPIs continuously, and implement new processes to enhance performance and efficiency. Effectively align and rally all departments (growth, clinical operations, etc) around organizational KPIs
  • Continuously improve financial modeling, forecasting, reporting and accounting. Lead planning and rolling forecast process to support the attainment of the company’s growth objectives and mission
  • Analyze business risks and opportunities, and make recommendations as they affect the financial results of the business
  • Communicate, engage, and drive value with Board of Directors and investors, both current and prospective
  • Drive scale initiatives across the finance organization, as well as cross functional initiatives that support scale across the company
  • Optimize and continuously improve the financial performance of the company with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts
  • Lead the strategy for pricing deals and influence product pricing for large contracts, customers, and deals
  • Instill a disciplined FP&A culture (but not prescriptive) to operationalize financial planning processes and strategic finance initiatives, including headcount planning, management reporting, multi-year forecasting, and ad hoc high-impact projects
  • Lead and evolve Equip’s revenue cycle management function, bringing clarity, scalability, and revenue optimization into the core Equip business model
  • Recruit, engage and grow a strong, motivated Finance organization and ensuring tangible and realistic career pathways for the growing team

Requirements

  • Experience as CFO or seasoned #2 finance executive of an organization that has been through rapid and high growth from $XXM to $100M+ in revenue
  • 7+ years of leading finance teams in high growth companies
  • A proven leader responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization while possessing a proven background in scaling high-growth businesses
  • Success serving as a key member of a senior leadership team in providing input to the CEO, Board, and management peers regarding the financial implications of all major business decisions, as well as strategic objectives
  • Recent experience as a senior finance executive at a fast-growing tech or tech-enabled services company, with strong familiarity with software revenue recognition, metrics, and best practices
  • Strategically oriented with the communication and interpersonal skills needed to effectively share and engage the entire organization in the key financial drivers of the company
  • Ability to develop and implement systems, tools and processes increasing business clarity and mitigate risks
  • Well-versed at building teams and doing world-class work in a collaborative, team-oriented manner; proven track-record of managing high performing teams and developing talent within an organization
