We set the company's strategy and technology vision, offer an unparalleled research foundation for innovation, and provide critical support infrastructure for Nokia.
Nokia Standards targets collaboration with internal and external experts to advance the state-of-the-art technology landscape as well as to protect Nokia Intellectual Property. The Architecture, Security and Automation unit is responsible for research and standardization activities related to 5G and 6G cellular network architecture, security and its AI/ML-empowered zero-touch automation. Our team leads the industry effort to maximize the value of the 5G and beyond networks and create new outcome-driven business opportunities towards the developers and the enterprise industries, leveraging the "as-a-Service" delivery model and enabling the exposure of simple, abstract network capabilities/services that can create value. This will help to co-create value with ecosystem partners, and deliver smart services and intelligent applications across the digital ecosystem.
What you will learn and contribute to
To further strengthen our research, standards and industry leadership in the telco transition to cloud native, we are looking for a Chief Network & Service Data Exposure Strategist and Architect. In this role you will be responsible for driving solutions for open networks and platforms, homogenous service exposure / application enablement framework and developer-friendly, outcome-driven service-related Open APIs. Interaction with CSP and Enterprise customers, partners, and the developers in these organizations is inherent part of the job.
The job includes the development and execution of a research and standardization strategy supporting the delivery transition of 5G and beyond networks to the "as-a-Service" business model and help rising the value of the networks - monetizing it towards the developers and the enterprise industries. You will engage with applied research and standardization professionals to drive and defend the Nokia's preferred solutions in key industry organizations as well as to build up robust intellectual property assets for Nokia. Interaction with customers, partners and competitors in these organizations is inherent part of the job.
As part of our team, you will:
- Analyze the opportunities towards the enterprise industries, identify verticals industries that have significant business impact, and analyze use cases, requirements, needs and challenges, and the value we can create for them
- Analyze the technology, its applicability to telco networks, possible solutions, deployment options and evolution roadmap as well as
- Contribute to the creation of the technology vision, strategy and reference architecture definition
- Drive research, standardization and open-source strategy supporting the transition to the "as-a-Service" business model and related regulation aspects regarding data protection and security
- Collaborate with the Nokia open-source team, Bell Labs and Business Groups to drive and defend Nokia's preferred solutions in key industry organizations
- Engage with CSP, Enterprise and ecosystem partners as well as attract software developers as part of the research and standardization process
Your skills and experience
You have:
- Strong understanding and hands-on in cloud technologies, tools, services and methodologies, and 7 or more years of experience with related research, open-source, and standardization of these technologies
- A computer science or electrical engineering/MSc degree, or equivalent
- Proven strong analytical thinking, ability to address complex problems and find innovative/disruptive solutions in multi-cultural engineering research and standardization environments
- An outstanding team player, with the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication and presentation skill
It would be nice if you also had:
- Strong understanding in cloud-native tools, services and methodologies, service exposure / application enablement framework (including security services), developer-friendly API design, SDKs and modeling, industrial and enterprise use cases, and 7 or more years of experience with related research, open-source, and standardization of these technologies
- A computer science or electrical engineering/MSc degree, or equivalent
- Proven strong analytical thinking, ability to address complex problems and find innovative/disruptive solutions in multi-cultural engineering research and standardization environments
- An outstanding team player, with the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication and presentation skill
