Chief of Staff, Engineering

Spotnana is looking for a key Chief of Staff to join our Engineering Leadership team. As the Chief of Staff, you will act as co-pilot to our VP of Engineering, ensuring their time is directed towards the most business critical, strategic initiatives across the business. You will drive cross-functional alignment and execution, through collaboration with tech and operational leaders (Product, Travel Ops, Fin Ops, People Ops, Engineering leadership, etc). In this role, you will partner with engineering leadership on internal and external communications and special projects. Success in this role will require a process-oriented approach, with a strong bias for action. This individual should also possess the ability to influence and manage large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Trusted partner to the VP, Engineering and executive team, operating on behalf of VP to help the leadership team scale
• Streamline internal and cross-functional operations by establishing processes and frameworks with consensus, and roll-outs with execution oversight
• Manage department KPI/OKRs including internal ones for engineering excellence, productivity and predictability
• Proactively partner with leaders to develop and track progress against goals
• Organize, prioritize information from teams to enable VP with decision making
• Drive VP’s Rhythm of Business and meetings – agendas, follow ups, DACI/RACI clarity
• Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming items addressed to the VP, and determines appropriate course of action, referral, or response
• Manage initiatives to improve organizational health across the global team
• Manage communication fronts including all-hands, newsletters, customers etc
• Successfully completes critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach

Qualifications

• You embrace our company values, integrate them into decision making and believe in our mission
• 2+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff or equiv. within engineering leadership
• 7+ years of cross-functional program management/business operations experience, specifically have supported engineering organizations
• Experience in a startup organization or culture
• Strong project management experience and skills - organized and disciplined, attentive to detail and follows up to ensure the right results
• Outstanding executive-level verbal and written communication and content creation skills
• Ability to grasp deep technical concepts and can speak the language of Engineers
• BS in an engineering field (e.g Engineering, Computer Science, etc)
• MBA or Master’s degree in management or engineering field is a plus
