Position Overview
Autodesk's Marketing organization is seeking a highly strategic, consultative, analytical, organized, and motivated individual to work as Chief of Staff for the company's Chief Marketing Officer. In this role you will partner closely with the Marketing leadership team, acting as an enabler for strategic initiatives, and ensuring execution of key priorities. You will be charged with building alignment on strategic initiatives with the senior leadership team and broader organization to include planning, communicating, and operationalizing strategic programs for the group. This role is a pivotal player requiring influence, initiative, creativity, and resolve to ensure the CMO and team is well positioned to execute.
Responsibilities
Strategy
- Manage the organization's strategic roadmap by tracking all initiatives and verifying execution and updating dashboards as needed, conferring with leadership in determining key performance indicators, scope, and structure of the process
- Serve as a trusted advisor to elevate and amplify the CMO's capacity, capability, and effectiveness. The Chief of Staff will act as a sounding board, serve as liaison or proxy when needed, and manage executive communications for the leader being supported
- Create, plan, and facilitate staff meetings to accomplish clear and effective decision making, tracking, and reporting on follow-up actions required, providing appropriate messaging both written & spoken to provide an overall view across teams to help collaboration across the organization
- Coordinate opportunities for efficiency by conducting research, benchmarking & analytics, propose new systems/processes to streamline as needed
- Oversee the process to ensure appropriate capture and cataloging of the WWM's knowledge base - establishing an information protocol across the team
Operational Needs
- Identify and execute initiatives that contribute to long-term operational excellence, ensuring key projects have clear milestones, success measures and operational plans
- Manage the process to connect the extended leadership team and directs - ensuring regular cadence of engagement and leveraging appropriate strategic assets across the team as it relates to the strategy process
- Plan and build content for internal communications, all-hands meetings, and operational reviews
- Create clarity around emerging areas so the team can prioritize and resource them
- Manage and coordinate high value, cross-functional initiatives, and projects, as well as the execution in support of special programs/projects across WWM, COO and Autodesk
Financial Management
- Maintain and oversee team budgeting process, establishing a clear link between strategic goals and budget allocation/ROI
- Coordinate budget issues among and across the team to ensure actuals meet targets and liaising with the team's finance business partner to ensure accuracy
The Ideal candidate
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience of progressively expansive responsibilities, with experience in program and/or process management, corporate innovation, strategy development or the like
- Familiarity with Marketing practices, with knowledge of appropriate research, trends, and technology innovation - particularly those with relevance to software industries
- Persuasive leader with experience driving initiatives with demonstrable outcomes, engaging with executives, and supporting others to articulate a vision
- Deep analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable using a data-driven approach to assess markets, industries, financial and business models
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Target Pay for this Position (Colorado): 190 - 220K
