Opportunity for Impact

HG is seeking a visionary Chief Product Officer to build the long and short-term product strategy, build and lead an exceptional team and ultimately craft a best-in-class data product experience for their customers. In this role, you will drive innovation with a customer-centric mindset alongside cross-functional stakeholders. As the top product leader at the organization, you will create a best-in-class B2B SaaS data and product offerings directly targeting a global client base.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the relevant markets and competitors with hands-on experience with subscription data products. This person will collaborate closely with the CEO and CTO to craft and execute on a long-term vision for the company that will yield success in the market, serve the customers, and ultimately power HG’s rapid growth.

Position Responsibilities

The Chief Product Officer will report to the CEO Elizabeth Cholawsky and will:

  • Create the product roadmap and communicate its deliverables to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that HG Insights balances customer input, market opportunity, technical constraints, and technical opportunities to create optimal roadmaps.
  • Lead and scale the product management, product design, and product marketing functions by creating a highly motivated team to assure rapid development and market adoption of products.
  • Develop a best-in-class product culture that leads with a consistent and intimate knowledge of customer needs and competitive pressures.
  • Ensure that all products have clear KPIs, comprehensive pricing strategies, and robust messaging frameworks and are driven to success by the HG go-to-market teams on time and within budget.
  • Properly implement HG’s product management methodology and create business plans, marketing/launch plans and release plans. Manage release cycles and milestones of products spanning multiple features and data insight areas.
  • Ensure your team has the skills that it needs to effectively deliver today's roadmap, while also scaling the team's expertise to grow with the company.
  • Be an inspirational leader with the ability to lead product conversations with our largest customers and lead internal and external conversations.
  • Partner with the CTO on quarterly planning sessions to ensure that the product roadmap is rational and deliverable and that engineering and product are aligned.
  • Engage with Data Solutions, Customer Success, Sales and Marketing organizations, and leaders to bring transparency, communication, and an understanding of the product roadmap, including feature requests and prioritizations.
  • Work with the CEO to evaluate M&A opportunities and lead product integration efforts.
  • Participate in speaking engagements on general industry topics and promotion of company products.

Professional Qualifications

  • 15+ years of technical, enterprise, and SMB software product management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience at the Vice President level at companies with >$50M ARR and experience in subscription data products and/or analytics solutions.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering and deploying SaaS and data solutions on a global scale while managing the end-to-end product life cycle.
  • Leadership experience with product management, product marketing, and design teams in an Agile environment.
  • Experience making complex data actionable via a comprehensive product strategy.
  • Strong working understanding of technology and data landscape and ability to identify partners to scale a product roadmap.
  • A proven mix of both technical and business acumen to effectively interact cross-functionally and to support the product roadmap and engagement with our customers.
  • Hands-on approach to mentoring teams and establishing a culture of immersive product management.
  • Experience working in mid-sized growth companies and the ability to balance strategy with changing business needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across audiences including being a product evangelist to our customers and a trusted leader in executive briefings and board meetings.
  • Ability to build consensus across an Executive Team on all aspects of the end-to-end product lifecycle with alignment to our company vision.
  • Must be willing to work from our Santa Barbara HQ and travel as needed.
