Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a highly self-motivated and experienced Senior Product Owner for our Inventor workflow improvement and new feature development within our Design and Manufacturing organization. Inventor is a Windows based 3D CAD software that provides professional-grade mechanical design, documentation, and product simulation tools with 1 million+ users worldwide. This team is responsible for the development of much of the Inventor workflow improvement and new feature development.
As an ideal candidate, you will excel at creating and maintaining healthy backlogs and enabling teams of developers by writing stories that are ready for developers to pick up and implement. You are comfortable in an agile environment and know how to engage and lead highly effective teams, in addition to other team Product Owners. The ideal candidate will also have extensive CAD knowledge as well as previous XD experience.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain healthy product backlogs on Inventor development projects
- Participate in Inventor strategy, customer engagement, and coaching of other Product Owners
- Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, Software Architects, and other key stakeholders to build meaningful release plans and make critical decisions that balance customer value delivery and technical needs for both short- and long-term success
- Work with a globally distributed team with talented team members in a hybrid/remote work setting and Scrum framework to deliver high quality solutions in response to corporate strategy and customer requirements
- Foster collaborative relationships across teams to accomplish project goals
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 10 years of relevant experience as a key customer requirements expert in XD, Development, or PO roles
- Proven ability to break down complicated epics into consumable stories
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders
- Solid understanding of all phases of software development lifecycle
- Work with team to breakdown complex technical requirements into logical execution slices
- Experience with scrum and agile development processes and methodologies
- Proactive, inclusive, quick decision maker with excellent communication and written skills
- Comfortable working within a globally distributed team within a hybrid/remote working model
