Chief Scientist II

We are embarking on a new endeavor and seek a Chief Scientist for Networks and Cyber, who will be a trailblazer in developing, maturing, and leading a new business segment focused on software-enabled autonomous and intelligent networks and cyber solutions, specifically designed for the national security arena. This strategic role not only involves leveraging and defining new technologies but also assumes a pioneering spirit to navigate this uncharted territory within the company. The successful candidate will be the cornerstone for building this innovative segment, responsible for building a team of technical and software experts to deliver projects that enhance our national security posture across all domains.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Forge the path for a new business segment, demonstrating visionary leadership and strategic foresight in autonomous and intelligent network and cyber solutions.

• Leverage and define cutting-edge technologies to support the creation of groundbreaking solutions that operate across all physical domains.
• Attract, hire, and lead a team of technical experts and software developers, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.
• Oversee all phases of business development from market analysis, strategic positioning, capture planning, proposal development, to project execution, ensuring alignment with long-term profitability goals.
• Communicate complex concepts, visions, and capabilities effectively to both the company's technical teams and government customers, ensuring alignment and fostering collaboration.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• A PhD in a relevant engineering or science discipline is strongly preferred.

• 10+ years of experience as a recognized subject matter expert and leader of projects, programs, and technical teams in networks, cyber solutions, AI/ML technologies, and autonomous systems relevant to national security challenges in the networking and cyber domain, showing a track record of increased responsibly, including experience as Principal Investigator and Program Manager for complex DOD research programs.

• Leadership experience in relevant technical areas within a broader technical community (e.g. thru publications, presentations, conference session leads, panels, etc.)

• Prior experience leading new ventures with innovation and strategic vision.

• Experience winning substantial new business and developing innovative solutions in technologies relevant to networking and cyber.

• In-depth experience working with national security challenges within classified environments to drive the development of secure, effective solutions.

• Strong experience in strategic planning, business development, and execution within the technology and software solution sectors.
