Chief Strategy Officer

Primary responsibility is to assist CEO and other ELT members with strategic research and planning, decisioning, and commensurate communication, implementation, and tracking.

Specific outcomes to own:  

• Develop outcome for Local business that is net neutral to 2023 cash or better (i.e. is able to generate enough profit/cash from continuing operations or a divestiture that offset any losses from operating the business in Q1 and/or shutdown costs for portions we shut down).
• Secure new base of investors (whether new longer-term public investors or private investors via take-private) to better ensure long term value creation/accretion upon communication of new company strategy via key presentation(s).
  • Main outcome here is to see share price increase by 75-100%+ via rotating into new shareholders 
  • Secondary outcome is to de-lever company and/or bring in additional long-term investment capital alongside new investor base.
  • Own content creation for how to best create “investor day” pitch deck related to new strategy
• Ensure that ELT is fully aware of the most complicated strategic challenges to solve for at all times and demonstrates 3x this year that they solved a developing issue on their own w/o escalation to CEO where it would have normally been required.
• Redevelop Executive Operating System to better align with changing needs of the organization

Additional responsibilities with which to assist:  

• Solve hardest/biggest obstacles standing in way of successful launch and scale of Fannie Mae program are solved/unblocked to get to 60-100k ReFi orders this year.
  • Lead (or assist Todd’s group) on developing the marketplace for closing services once we are at-scale with title waiver program
• Collaborate with product teams on any new product/initiative from draft to launch and iterations beyond
• Get very close to CFO/FP&A and numbers of the organization to assist in cash management, capital structure alternatives, and decision making to ensure that business needs and growth initiatives are satisfied with sufficient capital.  
• Assist in assessment of strategic partnerships, M&A, and divestments including Houlihan Lokey sale process for Local business
• Remain flexible – take on whatever responsibilities are needed to provide bandwidth for Max
