Chiller Mechanic HVACR Technician

We are currently hiring Chiller Mechanic HVACR Technician. We are seeking a skilled and experiencedHVAC Technicianat thejourneyman levelto join our team. The ideal candidate will have mid to high-level expertise in HVAC systems, with a strong focus on chiller systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a full service mechanical contractor focusing on commercial, industrial and institutional customers where you will play a critical role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various HVAC systems. The coverage area is Southern California. Since we are a 24/7 shop, on-call coverage is required on a rotating basis. Chiller Mechanic HVACR Technician duties and responsibilities: • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on various HVAC systems, with a focus on large-scale chiller systems. • Install, maintain, and service HVAC equipment in commercial settings. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to effectively complete work orders. • Diagnose and resolve operational issues in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. • Provide recommendations for equipment replacements, upgrades, and efficiency improvements. • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations. • Maintain records of repairs, maintenance, and installations through detailed reports. • Collaborate with team members and provide mentorship or guidance to junior technicians when needed. • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service calls. Technical skills and qualifications: • Valid Drivers License • 5+ years chiller service experience • 5+ years general HVAC experience About you: • Journeyman-level HVAC technician with 5+ years experience • 5+ years hands-on chiller experience, including troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance. • Experience with Hydronic/steam boilers • Strong understanding of HVAC principles, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles. • Ability to diagnose complex issues efficiently and come up with effective solutions. • Experience with VRF/VRV, desired • Experience with package units above 20 tons, desired • Capable of reading technical documents and ensuring accuracy in installations and repairs. • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. • Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and handle the physical demands of the job.
