POSITION SUMMARY:

Coopers Uptown is currently seeking an individual with a passion for cigar products and accessories with superior customer service skills for our part-time Cigar Sales Specialist role. In this role you will manage the tobacco department and walk in humidor within the Coopers Uptown gift shop and cafe.

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inventory merchandise and tobacco accessories
• Display products to appeal to guests and drive sales
• Inventory management with direct reporting to General Manager
• Direct reporting to General Manager for sales goals and metrics
• Grow the tobacco department through product suggestions and recommendations
• Work within the Retail team as a store partner
• Understand the mechanics of the walk-in humidor and maintain equipment
• Ability to work weekends and some holidays with possible evening events
• May be required to assist in other departments within the store
• Ability to lift 40-50 pounds
• Excellent communication skills with managers and guests.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 year or more preferred within the tobacco industry with experience in cigars
• Impeccable customer service skills
• Ability to cultivate vendors and create relationships with tobacco distributors
• Understanding of tobacco sales tax
• Ability to promote and increase traffic through product selection, merchandising and events
• Ability to adequately shift focus on a day to day basis effectively
• Identifies gaps and recommends additions to current product assortments
• Strong communication and team building skills are a must
