In addition to the education required for this position, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13Ā level. Specialized experience is defined as:Ā 1) experience in independently applying one or more of the following disciplines of civil engineering: structural, hydrologic, hydraulic, geotechnical, or engineering geology to the investigation, design, construction, operation, and/or maintenance of hydropower facilities or dams, and (2) experience in performing and documenting risk analysis, risk assessment, and risk-informed decision making related to the assessment of dam safety.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.

This vacancy is being used to fill positions in the remote work program.Ā Employees selected for the remote work program will not be required to report to an official Commission duty station on any frequent, regular or recurring basis. Official duty stations will be verified and approved upon selection and will be set where the employee regularly performs his or her duties. Locality pay and cost of living increases for remote workers will be set within the General Schedule Locality Pay Table of the remote worker's official worksite. Remote workers must attest that the remoteĀ duty station meets all safety, technological, information security requirements to perform the duties of the position safely and maintain security of all sensitive documents and information created, maintained or administered while performing Commission work. - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment (OF-306) to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
