DFM Development Services has a need to hire an internal licensed Civil P.E. to assist with various tasks within our unique multi-disciplined consulting operation that supports our real estate developer clients throughout the Metro DC Region. These divisions that require support include Bond Release, Dry Utility Design and Coordination and Stormwater Management Compliance.

The ideal candidate will be certified in VA, DC, and MD and have some experience using AutoCAD.  This is an exciting opportunity for a P.E. that is looking for a non-traditional position and wants the ability to work on numerous different tasks tied to the real estate development process.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, sign/seal, and submit as-built certifications on projects with stormwater management facility installation requirements
• Assist with preparing signing/sealing and submitting bond reductions
• Perform or oversee permanent stormwater maintenance facilities inspections and prepare, sign/seal and submit reports
• Prepare traffic control (MOT) plans
• Complete site surveys when DFM performing underground location/test pitting services
• Draft CAD drawings for Dry Utility Design projects
• Support and manage other projects and tasks that arise on our numerous bond release management, wastewater compliance services and other environmental and dry utility design and coordination projects
• Review and evaluate other testing information and certifications provided by client’s consultants

Qualifications:

• A Virginia P.E. is required, huge plus if also a P.E. in DC and MD or willingness to become a P.E. in MD and DC
• Must be legal to work for any U.S. Employer (i.e., citizenship, green card holder etc.) No sponsorships will be offered for this full time position.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in either civil design/engineering, transportation planning/engineering, geotechnical engineering or civil construction/materials testing, or some other design related discipline associated with land development or real estate development projects
• Basic understanding of or desire to learn the basics of how the real estate development design process works
• Experience in private real estate development projects (to some capacity) is highly preferred
• Having additional Licensed Surveyor (L.S.) certification is a highly preferred

Duties:

PRIMARY DUTY (80%)

• Stormwater as-built certifications

SECONDARY DUTIES (20%)

• Wastewater support and other Environmental Compliance support as needed
• Bond Reductions Preparation and Sealing
• Site Surveying for underground utilities
• Site As-Built preparation and Sealing
• Dry Utility CAD/DESIGN work
• MOT CAD work
