CJIS Insight Specialist (Internship - Fully Remote)

CJIS ACE supports this mission by ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of criminal justice information systems used by the public safety community. Our CJIS ACE team works directly with criminal justice agencies, and their vendors, to help them understand the requirements for securing criminal justice information found in the FBI's CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Policy.

Are you the one we're looking for?
CJIS ACE has developed the first CJIS compliance tracking and documentation solution, CJIS Insight. CJIS Insight is at the core of the CJIS Assessments that CJIS ACE conducts for local law enforcement agencies, vendors who interact with criminal justice agencies, and FBI approved Channelers. As CJIS Insight is expanding, CJIS ACE is looking for an intern to join our team to assist with supporting our clients and the assessment tool. This assistance will include, but is not limited to, attending project development meetings, demonstrating CJIS Insight, answering client questions, as well as configuring and supporting client accounts.

As a CJIS Insight Specialist, you will:

• Work with the CJIS ACE team to obtain an in-depth understanding of the FBI's CJIS Security Policy (CSP)
• Work with the CJIS ACE team to obtain an in-depth understanding of CJIS Insight, our software solution built specifically for CJIS Compliance
• Attend project meetings with clients
• Schedule client CJIS Compliance Assessments
• Update CJIS Insight with recurring changes to the CJIS Security Policy
• Perform regression testing updates and changes to CJIS Insight
• Lead client education webinars on CJIS Insight
• Maintain ongoing Insight client communications
• Research potential enhancements to CJIS Insight
• Have the ability to work remotely or in office

Requirements

This job might be for you, if you:

• Have an interest in making a positive impact on public safety and law enforcement agencies
• Will be graduating from college during the Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 semesters
• Are able to start September 2022 and can work a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Can commit to a multi-semester internship (at least one year)
• Are a confident and professional communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
• Are an avid and fast reader
• Are organized, detail-oriented, and tenacious - even when you encounter significant hurdles
• Are a team player who enjoys interfacing with numerous departments
• Are able to maintain client and data confidentiality
• Are open to the possibility of traveling to clients and/or conferences around the U.S.
• Are interested in being hired on full-time after graduation, if offered
• Maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Can confidently pass rigorous fingerprint-based state and federal background screenings, as required by the nationwide agencies we work with (mandatory)
• Do not require sponsorship to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available for this position
