The Claim Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements that drive value and efficiency in the Claims department. The Claim Business Analyst will assist with the design and deployment of cross-functional initiatives and evaluate the cost and benefits of past and potential changes to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between the Claim department, IT teams and vendor partners.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop in depth understanding of key business functions and the processes they support.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translates them into function requirements, user stories and process flows.
- Represent the claim business on the Claims Product Team as needed to help build, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog.
- Support the development of training materials and assists with the roll-out and implementation of new processes and systems with end users.
- Identify process gaps or trends and recommend appropriate process, system or automation solutions.
- Assist with designing, developing and deploying cross functional operations improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the Claim Business Analysis team to assess and demonstrate the value of past and potential changes.
- Assists with data reporting and data analysis in coordination with Data Analyst as needed.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of business analysis or related experience including data analysis, analytics or process improvement is required.
- Proficient in business case development, process improvement, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence.
- Insurance background preferred.
- High level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint).
- Ability to problem-solve and exercise critical thinking are essential.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs.
- Must be able to work with cross-functional teams consisting of both peer and management level personnel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
