About the Role
As a Claims Team Lead you will have the opportunity to lead a team of orthodontic claims specialists tasked with managing insurance claims for several Orthodontic practices. You will report to the Operations Managers and directly supervise a team of different skill levels including Coordinator 1, Coordinator 2, Senior Coordinator levels. Your primary objective will be to build a high performing team that are effective at submitting insurance claims, managing denials and following up on claims that fail to pay as expected. In doing so you will play a critical role in ensuring that OrthoFi delivers best in class RCM services and allows practices to focus on delivering quality orthodontic care.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise 7-12 direct reports responsible for submitting claims, managing denials, and following up on claims to ensure payments are collected in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Claim Account Leads and prioritize tasks to address top customer needs
  • Actively participate in tactical planning meetings to plan out team work assignments
  • Monitor team's service level performance and report on progress
  • Review teams quality scores and provide support needed to meet/exceed QA Goals
  • Provide coaching/development to the frontline Insurance team members, coaching the team to meet/exceed performance expectations and conducting bi-weekly 1:1's
  • Challenge team members and provide support needed to improve performance
  • Provide coaching / mentoring to support development of upcoming leaders
  • Manage and approve Time cards and PTO Requests for direct reports
  • Partner with the performance management team as needed to team training needs
  • Lead team building activities that embrace OrthoFi's core values
  • Participate in the hiring process

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Subject matter expert working claims or eligibility checks within the OrthoFi system or 5+ years managing claims processing within the dental or orthodontic industry
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with Google Sheets or MS Excel
  • Ability to use data to identify trends and report progress against department OKR's
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding performance expectations and mentorship of fellow team members
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role is a plus
  • Ability to adapt and change quickly

Compensation: $45,000-$47,500 annually
