Classification Analyst

PotomacWave is looking for a Classification Analyst to join our team supporting a Federal client in Washington, DC. The Classification Analyst position involves classification review and analysis of work packages to be performed at various labs, as well as conducting classification assessments of field offices.

Responsibilities:

• Receive Strategic Intelligence Partnership Program (SIPP) Packages for classification review and verify that an appropriate classification guide is on file matching the referenced guide. If no classification guide is on file, coordinate with sponsor to obtain.
• Review and verify that SIPP package classification is consistent between the package documents, to include: Determination and Findings, Statement of Work, funding document, and other package documents as needed. If incorrect or inconsistent, coordinate with sponsor to remediate.
• Review and verify that SIPP package classification and referenced classification guide does not conflict with agency classification guidance. If in conflict, work with the Field Intelligence Enterprise (FIE) sponsor and IN officials to resolve.
• Support site assessments including:
  • Assessments conducted on site at the FIE and Counter Intelligence (CI) Offices.
  • Virtual assessments, interacting with FIE and CI Offices.
• For each assessment, some or all of the following shall be required:
  • Schedule assessment with FIE and CI Office
  • Obtain documents for classification review
  • Organize documents for review by ICM technical staff
  • Assemble discrepancy data
  • Schedule FIE and CI Office interviews with ICM technical staff
  • Assemble interview data
  • Review assessment report from site’s Program Classification Officer or contractor Classification Officer, if applicable
  • Draft final report text

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of work experience directly related to classification review and/or assessments.
• Individual must exhibit evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to perform in an outstanding manner and deliver high-quality work products under tight deadlines.
• Able to internalize technical facts, spot discrepancies, process data, develop well- reasoned arguments/conclusions.
• Able to effectively convey deliverables both orally and in writing to Senior Directors.
• Individual must have an excellent grasp of Federal intelligence documents, how and why to classify them, and possess a strong understanding of the Federal activities regarding classification regulations, classification guidance, and how various intelligence agencies interact regarding classification coordination.
• Individual must have strong proficiency working with large quantities of information and be capable of reviewing data timely and comprehensively
• Experience in program or project classification management and interaction with the national laboratories and/or the Intelligence Community
• Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Associate Degree from an accredited college or university preferred; Bachelor Degree desirable.
• The selection of an individual for this position may be conditioned upon his or her successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
• Must have an active TS clearance.
